How to Create Consistent, Good Quality Content for Facebook

In other words, building your content marketing plan, one update at a time

How to Create Consistent, Good Quality Content for FacebookFacebook, Tik-Tok, Instagram – where does your business need to be in 2021 to gain the attention of your customers and help grow your business? In the United States alone, there are more than 200 million active Facebook accounts, with nearly 40% of users older than 45. While sexy new and emerging social platforms attract younger audiences (and depending on what you sell, they may be attracting your ideal customer), there’s no denying the still-growing and lucrative potential of Facebook.

Being on Facebook as a business allows you to deepen your connection with your online community, building brand awareness and trust in the process. But it can be challenging to constantly create new content for your Facebook community. If you’re struggling to create content, these ideas will help.

15 Facebook post ideas to support your content marketing strategy

  1. Promote your website. While your Facebook shouldn’t be selling all the time, it doesn’t hurt to share your online address once in a while. Grab an eye-catching screenshot of your website or a picture of a beautiful product in your showroom and invite readers to follow the link to visit you.
  1. Host contests and giveaways. Who doesn’t love to win something for free? Contests can generate a lot of excitement in a short time – and can be fun for the brand and the community. During your giveaway, remember to invite fans to share it with their friends and family, which usually results in more followers to your page.
  1. Tell your story. Content marketing is storytelling masterclass and Facebook is the perfect platform to share your brand’s backstory. Maybe it’s the story of how your grandfather started the business 50 years ago or maybe it’s how you chose your current location or something funny that happened to a staff member recently. Whatever stories you tell, be sure to use pictures and/or videos – and respond to people who ask questions.
  1. Speaking of questions. Asking questions on Facebook will give you valuable insights into how your community thinks – and what they want more (or less) of from you. The questions can be product based – which sofa would you rather be chillin’ on now? Or they can be questions about what’s happening in your local community.
  1. Share community content. Spotlighting fan content allows your community to learn from one another – and it affords you the opportunity elevate super fans. Have a customer who shared a picture of themselves signing the lease on a new car? Download the image and share it from your business account – with a big congratulations and a thank you for being part of your family. Who doesn’t like to be called out for being awesome?
  1. Create how-to tutorials. If you sell silverware, consider creating a short video on how to properly care for the different brands you carry. If you sell mattresses, consider an infographic on what’s inside the mattress – and how those components promote better sleep. How-to’s can be a lot of fun because of how you can use images and videos to strengthen your story.
  1. Post links to your blog content. When you publish a new blog post, drop a link on your Facebook account with a short update inviting readers to pop over for a read. Cross-posting content exposes your blog to a larger audience – it’s just plain smart – and can be a strong traffic driver.
  1. How to Create Consistent, Good Quality Content for FacebookShare images – lots of images. From branded graphics (an image with your logo on it) to product pictures, visuals always win on Facebook. Not only will you be giving your community important cues to your branding, you’ll generate excitement for the products you carry.
  1. Post discounts, deals, offers and sales. Facebook can be a great platform to share your in-store and online sales. Just be sure you’re not selling in every Facebook update – no one wants to be sold to all the time.
  1. Partner with influencers. Finding local influencers to partner with can be a huge boon for your business. It will likely mean dipping into your marketing budget but research shows consumers trust influencers more than brands. If this is a new strategy for you, start with one or two influencers and measure progress so you can replicate successes.
  1. Launch new products. There’s no better platform to generate buzz around a new product than social media. Consider hosting a giveaway or asking influencers to test drive the new product. If you can generate enough excitement, any budget you use will be well-rewarded.
  1. Create and share events. Newsletters can be touch and go when it comes to reaching your target audience. Posting an event on Facebook allows you to reach those folks who don’t check their email – or are newsletter deleters.
  1. Create an employee of the month tradition. What a great way to introduce your community to your employees. Each month, post an employee pic and explain why they were chosen. And then let the employee post for the next 24 hours, maybe their favorite products or things they like to do in their downtime.
  1. Facebook isn’t LinkedIn but it can still help you find and attract new talent. You never know when a previous customer decides they want to come work for you, which is pretty sweet actually.
  1. Share consumer reviews. If you’re collecting consumer reviews on your site, there’s likely a plug-in to share via social media. If you can’t share your reviews on social, create screenshots to showcase top reviews. Remember, anytime you talk about reviews on your site, invite users to leave reviews of their own.
